ZAMBIA - October/November 2008

Right now a team of volunteers are in the rural regions of Zambia, trying to reach as many schools, orphan centres, youth projects and individual kids as possible. To stay in touch with them out there, read their Zambia blog.

We are teaming up with the charity Alive and Kicking and buying their balls, which are made and stitched in Zambia. These balls have aids and malaria awareness messages printed on them. In a country where one million people are estimated to be living with HIV and where malaria remains the number one killer, these balls will be used as tools to spread awareness. They will also bring a huge smile to every Zambian child that receives one.

As always, our volunteers (this time led by Rob Kinder, Jamie Whitcroft and Sam Trusty) will hand deliver every single one of 2,500 balls on your behalf direct to the kids. They are about half way through the project and all so far seems to be going to plan. Touch wood.
